This is the view of sunrise over the distant Sawtooth Mountains, taken from
Pilot's Peak lookout. I find the subtle, soft colors a wonderful expression
of such a big view of Idaho's mountains and forest.
The afternoon of the previous day there was a very dramatic storm of heavy
rain and very close lightening strikes ( this is a fire lookout! ). I was
depending on the safety of sitting in my truck and the knowledge there was
a well-grounded fire lookout nearby to attract the lightening. As the sunrise
came the next morning, there was a mystical mist interspersed between
remote mountain ridges.
