Artist's Statement Photographing nature and the natural landscape begins with the life long process of developing a relationship with it on a deep personal level. I have dedicated my life to the solitary exploration and growth of this connection. Through the photographic print it is my intent to share this connection, and the healing that this shared experience can bring us. Nature is part of us, not outside of us, and the connection is necessary to make the human spirit whole and complete. About Greg Jahn Photography Greg Jahn has been exploring the natural landscape with a camera since the late 70's, and has worked full time as an artist since 2001. All prints are personally produced by the artist - every customer gets the personal attention of, and interaction, of the artist. Personal History Greg Jahn grew up in Idaho, and currently lives up a forested valley where he shares his homestead with the wild turkeys, elk and other wild critters. Ever since his first solo backback trip across the length of the Sawtooth Mountains at the age 15, Greg has made the pursuit of the remote, mysterious and untouched natural places his primary passion. A logical extension of this interest has been spending several decades climbing mountains with ropes, skiing the back country, and more recently having fun exploring the craft of technical canyoneering in the canyons of Southern Utah. Through the years, these explorations have grown to include experiencing the lands and cultures of other countries, including volunteer humanitarian work in El Salvador and for the Tibetan Government in Exile in north India.
Greg has a degree in mathematics, and worked as a computer systems and networking specialist for numerous government agencies and the private sector. In the 1990's, Greg served as the Idaho coordinator of volunteer work for Amnesty International, and served on the board of directors of the local grassroots environmental organization Committee for Idaho's High Desert. He has a strong interest and passion for both human rights and environmental issues. Since 2001, Greg has dedicated himself full time to the craft of creating the fine art natural landscape print.
